Snow may be falling outside my window, but I’m dreaming about summer thanks to my USPS Sailboat Postcard Stamps, which were just released this week! I’m still pretty awestruck that I had the chance to illustrate stamps, seeing as they’re such a ubiquitous part of daily life. I can’t wait to see them stuck to postcards from all over the country this year :)
Sailboats have always made me think of my childhood in Grand Haven, a little town on the coast of Lake Michigan. We lived right near the beach, and I spent just about everyday in the summer splashing in the waves, digging in the sand, and playing on neighbors’ catamaran trampolines. It was truly the best place to be a kid! I’m so proud to be able to share this slice of nostalgia through my work.
If you’d like to buy some stamps, they are available here!
